Masaki Hosoda
Founder & CEO
Our Founder and CEO, Masaki Hosoda, holds a degree in Applied Physics from Waseda University and a Master's degree in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, USA. His mission is to bridge the gap between fundamental physics and advanced business engineering.
At Canon Inc., he led the development of a lens surface metrology system for lithography optics that achieved world-leading measurement reproducibility at the time. He also has a proven track record in developing measurement systems ranging from electron beam lithography to space telescope instrumentation — spanning from the microscopic to the cosmic scale.
He subsequently conducted cutting-edge device R&D at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), working within multinational teams. He developed life-saving and healthcare-innovating devices, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) systems and Intravascular Laser Speckle Imaging (ILSI) for evaluating coronary artery plaque, holding multiple patents in both Japan and the United States.
In his previous role, he served as CTO of a startup, overseeing both R&D and sales teams. He consistently led the commercialization of innovative technologies such as OCT systems, as well as mid-to-long-term business and sales strategies, driving both technology and business forward.
